RIVERSIDE, Calif. — The Riverside County Superior Court announced plans to reduce services one day per month beginning in January 2025, citing budget constraints caused by significant cuts to state funding for trial courts.
In compliance with Government Code §68106(b)(1), the court issued a 60-day notice detailing its intention to implement monthly staff furloughs to address the budget shortfall for the 2024–2025 fiscal year. During these furlough days, all court locations will operate on limited emergency services only.
The scheduled dates for reduced services are:
- Friday, January 17, 2025
- Friday, February 14, 2025
- Friday, March 28, 2025
- Friday, April 18, 2025
- Friday, May 23, 2025
- Friday, June 20, 2025
The court has invited public feedback regarding the proposed service reductions. Comments may be submitted in writing to P.O. Box 1547, Riverside, CA 92502, or electronically via email at courtexecutiveoffice@riverside.courts.ca.gov. All submissions must be received by Tuesday, January 14, 2025.
Court officials expressed regret over the necessity of the decision but emphasized that the reductions are vital to maintaining operations within the constraints of the reduced budget.
